The Grand Rapids Art Museum and AM Yoga present Yoga at GRAM. Join us on Thursday evenings for exceptional Vinyasa-style yoga classes with instructors Ashley Yost and Mali Jane. All levels are welcome.
Yoga is the art of connecting mind with body through movement, breath, and meditation. Art and yoga have complementary and intrinsically valuable benefits. Art provides us with a deeper understanding of the world around us, a greater empathy for others, and heightened powers of observation. Those who practice yoga regularly can achieve an increased sense of self-awareness, mindfulness, and ability to be present in their daily activities. Experienced together, art and yoga can offer new ways of seeing the world and experiencing the self.

After Yoga at GRAM, Join GRAM and AM Yoga for 15 minutes of in-gallery meditation. Your guided meditation will begin with a short breathing practice to steady the mind while reflecting on a piece of art in GRAM’s collection. Learn how to sit, be still, and how the practice of meditation will change and become a part of your life.
This meditation is the perfect way to wrap up Yoga at GRAM or enjoy on its own. Accessible to everyone. No change of clothes necessary; just comfortable to sit.
